Big K.R.I.T. – Country Shit

Mississippi’s Big K.R.I.T. not only sounds like Pimp C on “Country Shit,” but also produced the sick beat himself.  Obviously there will never be another Chad Butler, but Big K.R.I.T.’s style and work ethic has me eagerly awaiting the April 5th release of KRIT Wuz Here!

The first verse sounds like it was made for Pimp C:

“I told ‘em aww man, hold up
What you know about it,
Candi cars, superstars,
rubber bands in my pockets,
A couple broads for the poppin,
If she ridin then she boppin,
Bitch I’m selling if you shoppin,
If you need it, then I got it,
If I want it, then I cop it,
If you don’t like it nigga top it,
Why you worried about mine, hoe,
What’s off in your wallet?
I was riding my screw shit,
Rims chop choppin,
Top droppin,
Throwing bread crumbs,
Crows start flockin,
Knockin pictures off the wall,
We sit tall, but we still crawl,
We still shoot, we still score,
We still win, so we still ball,
We still hood, so fuck them laws,
I got nuts and I got loot,
If you can’t see the king in a nigga like me,
Undoubtedly,
Well fuck you too.”

Big K.R.I.T.’s description of “listing to Screw while crawlin in his candi painted car,” is gonna have Texas hip hop fans loving this song!

Ludacris – Party No Mo (Featuring Gucci Mane)

Bangladesh’s production on “Party No Mo” brings just as much energy to the track as Ludacris‘ lyrics, with my favorite line being, “I keep the hood with me like Obi-wan Kenobi.”

Here’s an excerpt from Luda’s first verse which sets the tone for the party track:

“I done had about fo’, five, six shots yea I’m getting wasted,
Red pills, blue pills, yea I’m in The Matrix,
Two swisha, three swisha, four swisha, five,
Go turn my music up and tell these hoe’s to get live,
Got a pocket full of hundreds and some bottles on ice, ice,
Conjure and lime got a nigga feelin nice, nice.”

I would have loved to have heard more from Gucci Mane, as his brief part of the hook shouldn’t be enough to warrant a feature!

Ludacris’ seventh studio album drops this Tuesday, and from the sound of its numerous leaks, it’s a project you’ll wanna pick up!

Label: Def Jam, Multi Records, Cinematic Music Group

Hometown: Meridian, MS

Big K.R.I.T. turned heads with the release of his K.R.I.T. Wuz Here album through Cinematic Music Group and GFCNY. K.R.I.T. stands for “King Remembered in Time,” and if the Southern emcee’s creative production and exceptional lyricism are any indicators of his career’s longevity, he'll surely be remembered.

In addition to producing his own music, Big K.R.I.T. runs Multi-Records, a label set up to give Mississippi artists support, and is a member of the rap group The Alumni.

Totally predictable mainstream hip hop with the same gansta type unoriginal lyrics. Sure the beat is good, but anyone with a laptop can make a decent beat. This the equivalent of what Avril Lavine is to rock & roll.
This is really boring stuff Gary. If you are into hip hop and like real talent check out Je-Ru the Damaja or even the Gorillaz, or you can keep on pumping the Black eyed peas and Jay-Z think that is hip hop, when it is just top 40 shlock.
