8Ball & MJG - "Bring It Back" (Featuring Young Dro)

"Bring It Back" is the first single off of 8Ball & MJG's upcoming Ten Toes Down album, which sounds like it's going to feature more of the hard southern sound they're known for. A number of DJs and southern artists such as DJ Grandmaster Flash, Bigga Rankin, Mike Bigga, Tony from The Core DJs, Young Buck, and Jazze Pha, paid their respects to the Memphis legends with cameos in the Gabriel Hart-directed video.(More..)
Here's a new video off of Gucci Mane's The State vs. Radric Davis album. I was very surprised to see Gucci make an appearance in this, especially considering the long list of videos he's been absent from due to his incarceration.

Travis Porter continues to build their already crazy buzz with a performance on the Monique show.  All unsigned acts should be watching their moves!

Unlike a number of the Bay area emcees, who have a hard time gaining a fan base outside of the region, DaVinci has proven with his debut album, The Day The Turf Stood Still, that his sound has nationwide appeal.

The project, which dropped earlier this month, has been picking up steam around the country despite its content largely revolving around the emcees home town of Fillmore, CA and its current gentrification. (More..)

I “pair” wine and beats, not wine and cheese. If you’re looking for someone to tell you about how the spice of a pepper corn steak perfectly matched the spices in a particular Zin, you’re in the wrong place.

You’ll hear me compare wine varietals to genres of music, how the context of time affects both wine and music, or even how a rumbling baseline was similar to tannins that floated over taste buds. My real goal is to keep it fun!

So how do you pair wine and beats?

For the first pairing I’m going to make it easy for you, as I’ve already cracked this bottle and played this track for a group of friends. We all decided that Donwill’s “Shake it Easy” and2007 Murphy-Goode The Fume – Sauvignon Blanc went hand in hand.

This remix video to "My Chick Bad" turned out so much better than the original.

Having said that, Diamond steals the show on this one with lines like:

"Roll with bad bitches and they all look brazilian,

These niggas can't leave me, I swear they can't leave me,

Ass so fat and the pussy like fiji."

Here Diamond speak on the video shoot in our recent interview.
Fifteen years ago one of hip hop's most influential figures lost his battle with Aids.

If you don't know who Dom Kennedy is, you have two options:

1. Download this mixtape right now and find out.

2. Read our article on the West Coast emcee and get a taste for his sound.

But please do yourself a favor and don't leave this post without giving this dope emcee a chance!

Jola - She Say
"I was raised in a town where all the kids said tubular, And all the black guys asked how did you get cool with her?"

Jola's music isn't exactly breaking the mold, but he is getting a lot of attention for being so upfront about his background and style, which appeals to the suburban and college student demographic. Also, in case the above quote wasn't enough, Jermaine Dupri makes it boringly clear with this intro that Jola and his "Trunk Music Movement" is the opposite of the hood. (More..)
Never one to disappoint, Jason Goldwatch puts together an entertaining video for Kid Cudi's "Soundtrack 2 My Life" using tour footage.
