Donnis – “Country Cool” (Featuring Yelawolf & Pill)

Download “Country Cool” Remix.

Donnis teamed up with fellow emerging artists Pill and Yelawolf, for the remix to Diary of an Atlanta Brave’s “Country Cool.”  All three emcees put forth great verses, but Pill stole the show by speeding up his flow over the J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League-produced cut.

Here’s Pill’s verse:

“I am straight from the A,
Project livin, again straight from the A,
Hat on my head like I play for the Braves,
Cruise through the city with a thing on my waist,
With a trunk full of bass,
Home of the big rims, strip clubs,
Last minute fifth wheel, pimp cups,
Cumming flat to the Ben Hill, put it up,
Got niggas from the temp set, pullin up,
What you know about the freeze cup,
Coming straight from the candy lady
Where you get the Kool-aid to freeze up,
Man downtown with a bush screaming Jesus,
Even ten year-olds g’d up,
What you know about the top man,
Riding round bean, pocket full of stones, candi paint on the stock man,
It’s the home of the thick girls,
But you might see a skinny nigga chillin on the bus with a big girl,
A Town, stay down but you coming up,
Straight drop, got the whole trap running up,
Even Jay’s got Jay’s,
You either see a nigga with dreads or a fade, not braids,
White t-shirt, act up get sprayed,
See me country cooling in the shade, nawhatimsayin’,
Free cable, from the Comcast,
This the home of the five baby mommas, catch ya mom fast,
The plate lady got apartments bunkin’, I’m finna order me somethin,
Tell me what you really know about the Southern shit,
This heatin up your whole house with the oven shit,
Knock the homegirl off and her cousin shit,
Ain’t really heard nobody do it how I does it shit,
Your now rockin with the best, young thuggin shit,
We made the whole world love this shit,
OK DENN.”

Yung Don – “Wear My Tattoo” (Featuring Alley Boy)

Download “Wear My Tattoo.”

Yung Don teamed up with Alley Boy to make the hardest Tattoo track since Wiz Khalifa’s “Ink My Whole Body.”

Here’s Alley Boy’s verse:

“I done ink’d my whole body up,
Left arm and my right arm,
Shirt off in the club, bunkin’ hard, nigga face off,
Ain’t no shirt today, I’m squad up on,
on my neck and back,
Kids so deep my tats,
My chest piece cost me three stacks,
Stomach cost two stacks,
Back cost four racks,
Every time you see me, my shirt off, I just wear tat’s,
Alley Boy Da Don, I done hooked up with the Yung Don,
Mid coming in by the bail, straight from Tucson,
Tats in my face, on my side, I’ve been goin in,
DTE on my cheek with Duct Tape on my lower chin,
I don’t give a fuck, all my goons throwing their sets up,
A hundred niggas got they shirts off cause they tatt’d up.”

Keep an eye out for Alley Boy’s upcoming Purgatory mixtape, hosted by DJ Drama.

Artists Tagged

Alley Boy

Label: Duct Tape Entertainment, Atlantic Records

Hometown: Atlanta, GA

Despite having been in jail for the first half of 2009, Alley Boy’s name remained relevant in the streets due to the support of his Duct Tape family and the success of Big Bank Black’s “Try It Out." Upon being released, the Edgewood, Atlanta native bounced back and signed a joint venture between Atlantic Records and DTE.

Alley Boy's co-signs range from DJ Drama, to Gucci Mane, to fellow emerging artist Pill, and the Atlanta tastemakers have already crowned Alley Boy's Duct Tape Entertainment the biggest street movement since BMF.

Pill

Tyrone Rivers

Label: Asylum Records

Hometown: Atlanta, GA

Pill’s music is refreshing, as he paints a portrait of the streets in a very natural and real way, effectively shaming all the artists who pretend to be from his part of town. The XXL Magazine Freshman turned heads with his debut video for "Trap Goin' Ham," directed by Motion Family, as it graphically portrayed the poverty taking place in Pink City, five minutes away from a police precinct and seven minutes away from the state capital.

So far all of Pill's releases have been named after the various locations in which he grew up. 4180: The Prescription refers back to the Kimberly Court Projects on 4180 Cant Street and 4075: The Refill refers to the address of Pill’s aunt’s house. His next release, hosted by DJ Drama, should be a major turning point in his career as he's sure to be exposed to a wide fan base. Gangsta Grillz 1140: The Overdose is set to drop on June 1st.

Yelawolf

Michael Wayne Atha

Label: Ghet-O-Vision Ent., Interscope Records

Hometown: Gadsden, AL

Yelawolf's Trunk Muzik mixtape, hosted by DJ Burn One, catapulted the Alabama emcee into the emerging artist spotlight in early 2010. This project's buzz coupled with numerous co-signs (including Eminem) helped to land Yela a record deal at Interscope.

Described by Mike Bigga as a mix between Outkast and Lynyrd Skynyrd, Yelawolf’s style is thoroughly southern. The southern drawl adds to Yela's unique sound which often meshes hip hop with classic rock. Other unique aspects of Yelawolf's persona are his love of skateboarding and appreciation for classic rock, which help him stand out amidst a sea of emerging hip hop artists.
