Screen shot 2011-02-17 at 1.06.30 PMHip-Hop is about pushing the limits: being rebellious and having fun doing it.  It’s also competitive.  If you aren’t doing all those with intentions of being the best, then it isn’t for you.

The above quote can be found on H.O.P.E.’s website and helps give listeners a view into the emerging artist’s competitive mindset.

HipHopAtLunch met up with H.O.P.E. to speak about coming straight outta Compton with the last name Wright, working with Kendrick Lamar, Nas’ response to his Sincere The Nas Tape project, and the upcoming Believe in H.O.P.E. Wright mixtape.

If you want to check out what Nas heard, here’s a link to H.O.P.E.’s Sincere The Nas Tape project.  Below is the video with  U-N-I’s Y-O that we spoke about above.

“No hustler I know has a 401k,
Shit I’m trying to make 401k in one day.”

H.O.P.E. explained in our interview that the video for “Bliss” was put together in a way to project his real life.  I’m sure a lot of listeners could relate with the West Coast emcee after watching “Bliss.”  Shout out to Calmatic on directing the visuals!
