Interview: Machine Gun Kelly (2/15/11)

Cleveland’s Machine Gun Kelly spent the last year turning heads and building a solid fanbase through touring, creative videos, and his most acclaimed project yet, Lace Up.

The Midwest emcee is proud of his hometown and takes efforts to make sure fans are aware.  For example, check out his “Cleveland” video.  Word is that this song gets played at the Cavalier’s home games!

HipHopAtLunch met up with Machine Gun Kelly to speak about his “Mayhem (H.A.M. freestyle),” how he received a few co-signs from Big Sean, and what it was like working with Juicy J.  He also gave us a closer look at a few of his meaningful tattoos.

Big Sean gave a co-sign to Machine Gun Kelly in our latest interview with the Detroit artist.  He even went as far as to quote MGK’s “Maybe this your bitch but I’m not sure, cause all I see is head” from the “Foolay” video.  Hopefully some future collaborations between the Midwest emcees are in the works!

Since MGK just got Mayhem tattooed on his wrist, it only made sense to freestyle over Kanye and Jay-z’s latest single.  Shout out toLex Luger on the production!

You heard MGK spit his favorite lines from this freestyle in our interview, but here’s his whole verse:

I can only imagine how hilarious those industry stories were that Juicy J shared with Machine Gun Kelly when they met up and recorded this track.  Also, here’s the ad lib that MGK mentioned in our interview, shutthefuckup!  Shout out to Lex Luger on producing this collaboration as well.
