J.Cole

Jermaine Cole

Label:Roc Nation

Hometown:Fayetteville, NC

Bio

After hearing J.Cole’s self-produced track, “Lights Please,” Jay-z signed the North Carolina artist to his Roc Nation label. This record deal put a lot of attention on the young emcee, who quickly released one of 2009’s best projects in The Warm Up mixtape. Now, unlike a number of popular southern hip hop artists who release material regularly to stay relevant, J.Cole has managed to keep his buzz alive for a little over a year since releasing that tape. His impressive lyricism even landed him a guest spot on Jay-z’s The Blueprint 3 album, opening the door to nation-wide exposure. J.Cole’s debut album is set to be released in late 2010.

via Rap-Up. "It's not going to be The Warm Up or Friday Night Lights, Meaning like, I treated those like albums, This is going to be more of a true mixtape, Like you'll really hear that.. You know, Don't expect the album, but expect a mixtape." If J.Cole isn't trying to top The Warm Up or Friday Night Lights with his new mixtape, then I hope he keeps the track-list short and the music real personal. The Come Up and The Warm Up were my shit, remember when you first heard

Download - "Work Out" Today is the two year anniversary of the release of J.Cole's impressive Warm Up mixtape.  To help celebrate, the Fayetteville emcee just released his new single, "Work Out."   Thoughts on J.Cole?

Download - "Disgusting" [audio: http://rapradar.files.wordpress.com/2011/05/discusting.mp3] It isn't his new single, but here's a new track from J.Cole nonetheless.  Hopefully Roc Nation decides to release the emerging artist's debut album this year. Sidenote:  I'm pretty sure J.Cole's last three videos span the last three years: "In The Morning," "Who Dat," and "Simba." Cole's camp should release some viral videos for standout tracks off of his Friday Night Lights mixtape.
