CHOPCARE COVERThe Take Care album begins its sad story with autotuned piano synths and a stark sense of regret that shines through Drake’s voice as he croons about “…falling in love in the strip club…” on “Over My Dead Body.” Each track on this album delivers a reflective sentiment and on a certain level, connects you to the musing stories that are being told. Noah “40” Shebib’s subterranean, eighties soft rock-influenced, synth-centered production work throughout the album, most popularly characterized in the track “Marvin’s Room,” completely complements Drake’s emo sensibilities.

On the other side of the hip hop spectrum lies Chop Care, produced by OG Ron C and DJ Candlestick, who successfully maintain the original album’s languid flow interspersed by DJ scratches and a bassed out Drake epitomized by “Over My Dead Body.” Frankly, it takes what could be construed as Take Care’s slightly “pussy-esque” vibe and gives it some of that OG juice.
