I’ve had Future and Gucci Mane’s Free Bricks project in heavy rotation over the last few weeks.  Gucci went in on this mixtape, undoubtedly knowing that it would get extra listens due to Future’s rapidly growing popularity.  Also, Future’s trading verses with Gooch definitely expanded the emerging emcee’s fan base.

Although it’s not one of my favorite tracks off of the project, I wanted to highlight “Lost It” due to Tity Boi’s verse.  Here’s a quick excerpt from Tit’s impressive feature:

“I called my baby mama and told her quit her job,
Now tweet your favorite rapper and tell ‘em get a job,
It’s a new nigga, all I wear are True’s nigga,
It’s lonely at the top, but I got a great view nigga,
You know how I do nigga, Louie on my shoe nigga,
Walk around the clubbbbbb, hah-chooo nigga.”

Gucci Mane is fresh out of jail and looking to get his post-prison buzz going.  Who better to do a collaborative mixtape with than Future?  If you’re unfamiliar with Future, the emerging Atlanta emcee has released two solid projects so far this year in True Story and Dirty Sprite.   This Free Bricks mixtape sounds like it will be just as impressive.

Kendrick Lamar grabs a few lines from Gucci Mane for his “Vanity Slave Part 2.” Shout out to Sounwave on the production! Here’s a quick excerpt from Kendrick:

“I want em, can’t afford em,

I guess I really am a vanity slave,
I guess my ancestors turnin in their graves,
Burnin money when I get it,
Fuck a life savings,

I actually caught Kendrick Lamar performing in New York last night.  The emerging Compton emcee’s stage presence was on point; don’t sleep on ‘em! If you still haven’t heard Kendrick’s O(verly) D(edicated) project, I suggest you read our official review.
